TANKAR-Coffee is no mass-product; it is an individual gift from the garden of an individual family in Karagwe. This uniqueness can be experienced, as a customer you can trace your TANKAR-Coffee back to the farmer. We can carry the unique stories of the TANKAR Farmers to the high-quality coffee lovers in Rom, London, New York, Paris, Berlin or Tokyo.

Our organic TANKAR-Coffee is growing in the east-African TANzanian highlands of KARagwe, which is the source of the Nile. Karagwe is the indigenous area of the C. Canephora Coffee plant, therefore we can grow our organic coffee almost like wild coffee in its natural environment. Having just a few plants per acre, our coffee is traditionally garden farmed in a naturally diverse environment under the shade of banana trees and in a symbioses with beans, maize, pineapples and peanuts.

The pleasant highland climate, low coffee plant density and slow growth in the shadows of other trees lead to the unique sweet and fruity TANKAR-Coffee taste. TANKAR-Coffee has more natural sugars and more fruity aromas than mass-produced coffees.

As we are a community enterprise owned by farmers. Our TANKAR-Coffee is the voice of our small scale growers that empowers the community to built on the traditional and sustainable farming system.

Karagwe Map Our TANKAR Gardencoffee is based in East-Africa, in the Highlands of Karagwe, at the Source of the Nile. West of Victoria Lake and the Serengeti, East of the Rwanda "Gorilla" Mountains.
